Major Arcana · card XII
The Hanged Man
pause, surrender, new view
Reading it upright
A man hangs calmly by one foot, a halo around his head. Things are on hold, and the pause brings a different point of view. It is one of the first cards students learn to read as useful rather than bad.
Reading it reversed
Reversed, the waiting turns into stalling, or a sacrifice is made for nothing.

What would I see if I looked at this problem upside down?
Study tip. Draw The Hanged Man on purpose, set it in front of you, and write three things you can literally see in the picture before you look at any notes. Your own observations will stay with you longer than a keyword list.
Notes on this site are a starting point. Different decks and readers interpret cards differently, and a reading is never a substitute for professional advice.
